Set of 12 Antique Cylindrical Buttons Cool!

These buttons came from an estate and were sewn down the front of a silk Chinese coulee costume. The daughter told me (if I remember correctly) her mother had inherited it from an aunt. There was an old, old photograph of a young lady wearing this in a play. The silk was so old and brittle it shattered when you touched it but there was certainly nothing wrong with the buttons. There are 12 total. They are about exactly an inch long and not quite 1/2 inch wide. I haven’t a clue what they’re made of. I could scratch one and probably find out but I’m not going to do that. If it helps, when I clack them together in your hand they sound like marbles. So modern looking and in reality so old! Sold as a set of 12.

Hand washed, air dried and pressed. Excellent condition. c. 1910 – 1930’s
