These gloves came from an estate sale down the street from me. The elderly lady’s husband has passed away and she was downsizing to move into a smaller place. She told me they were made by either her husband’s mother or grandmother. They were hand crocheted with navy thread in a technique called “lovers knots”. For the frilly cuff another pattern was used but made with the same delicate thread. A pretty black button was added to close at the wrist.
I wear a 6.5 and these were too snug for me. However, my daughter, who also wears a 6.5 slipped them on with no trouble. Hmmm. Soooo, to be safe I’m going to say they’re are a size 6. They have been carefully hand cleaned, air dried and have no issues whatsoever. They are wonderful for show and yet plenty sturdy enough to wear.
