This beautiful clutch purse came from the estate of my late friend and neighbor Dee. Widowed very young, she lived for much of her life in Washington D.C. and worked in the senate office. I met her about 15 years ago when she retired and moved back home to be closer to her family. This purse is made of rich velvet and hand embroidered with silver and gold metallic threads. The inside is finished with watered silk and has a pocket for a compact or mirror. It measures 8.5” x 5.25” and looks barely used. The nap is still almost perfect and the inside is as clean as a whistle. The elastic on the inner pocket is starting to give (lets face it, its OLD) and I almost replaced it as it wouldn’t be much of a project. However, as it’s not floppy or misshapen, decided to leave it in its original state. The back has a small smudge (about the size of a pea) that you can feel but barely see. Folks, I must apologize for my pictures. Black is always a bugger to film and black velvet is nearly impossible. How I wanted to show you the rich colors and fabulous detailing in the embroidery but against the black it tended to over expose. In actuality it is elegant and a truly beautiful purse which you’d be proud to carry it to even the most formal of functions.
I thank you for looking and, as always, if you have any questions or need additional pictures, just ask! I’ll be more than happy to oblige.
