This gorgeous baby bonnet is hand crocheted with a teeny tiny cotton thread (almost like a quilting thread) in the most dainty pineapple pattern I’ve ever come across. Oh, how I wish you could see it in person. I was fortunate that all the ribbons and bows (which cant be cleaned) were still in place so I could replicate them exactly the way they were made. It measures 13” across the brim and 8” around the neck. The lady who sold it to me told me it was made by her grandmother for her mother and was transported to Texas from Arkansas in a covered wagon.
It was carefully hand cleaned, and air dried. There are NO stains, NO yellowing and NO flaws whatsoever. Although nowadays these usually hold a prominent show place in the parlor, this one is as strong as the day it was made and could be worn.
