Buttery Yellow Baby Dress with Matching Slip – all hand sewn

This dress was no doubt made in the Philippines for the American Market who had an insatiable demand for pretty hand embroidered dresses.  I was told by the lady who I bought it from that it was a gift for her daughter born in 1953.  Made from a buttery yellow cotton, it has hand embroidery and tiny pleats for accents.  The scalloped neckline and hem are hand embroidered as well.  In fact, the entire dress, including the top stitching and French seams which hold it all together are all hand sewn.  Amazing.  It measures 9” from shoulder to shoulder and 12” from underarm to underarm.  Shoulder to hem measures 14”.  The condition is superior with no problems of any kind.  You’ll no doubt run for the camera when you see this one on your little darlin’!

Hand laundered.  Air dried.  Excellent condition.  c. 1950’s
