Irish Rose Hand Crocheted Baby Bonnet - A real charmer!

A darling hand crocheted baby bonnet done in a pattern so favored by the Irish.  Lets begin in the back where 7 large leaves radiate out from a single 3-dimensional rose to make the crown.  The rose is repeated again with a noble row around the brim.  Connecting the 2 parts is a delicate mesh of chains with dainty picots.  Tufted satin ribbons and bows to tie finish off the piece to perfection.  This one is a bit smaller than some, measuring 17 around the brim and 10 around the neck.  As perfect today as the day it was made.

Hand laundered, air dried and blocked.  Excellent condition.  c. 1930s-40s
