Only once in a blue moon do I run across a full set like this. Sets like these were used before radio when get-togethers were a common form of entertainment. This set would have been used for a small luncheon or on very hot days when homemade ice cream was in order. There is a runner (42” x 19”) and six matching placemats (13.5” x 9”). They are made of a finely woven Irish linen and hand embroidered in a delicate floral pattern. The only flaw is a small repair (done by me and pictured) where a rust spot left a small hole. They are otherwise BRIGHT white and in perfect condition.
They have been carefully hand cleaned and pressed with light starch. This set is one for the collector and yet every bit sturdy enough to use when you host your own Ice Cream social with friends
I thank you for looking and, as always, if you have any questions or need additional pictures, just ask! I’ll be more than happy to oblige.
