An exceptionally cool apron hand crocheted with cotton threads. The hem is scalloped and edged with a delightful row of perfect forget me nots. The lady I acquired it from told me that when her aunt got married, she and her cousins were asked to be servers at the reception. The aprons were made for each of the girls by her grandmother. She thought long and hard as to whether she even wanted to part with it but in the end decided she’d rather see it passed on to a good home and used. The bib alone measures 17” at the waist and flairs to 30” at the hem. It is 15.5” long. The ties measure 25” each. The condition is perfect. The whites are white, the colors are bright and it’s as strong as the day it was made. The first (and probably the last) one I’ve ever come across. A treasure, to be sure.
Hand laundered and pressed. Excellent condition. 1950’s
