An outstanding set of 3 linen towels, embroidered with the exquisite stitching you’d expect to find by the Marghab firm. Each are embroidered in the “Butterfly” pattern complete with daisies held with a flowing bow. The handiwork includes padded borders, seed stitching and cutwork at the tops of the butterflies’ wings. The bottom edges are framed with 2 layers of Marghandie, a fabric custom woven for Marghab. One towel is hand sized measuring 21.5” x 14.25” and the other 2 are fingertip size measuring 14” x 8”. The hand towel has a light stain on the front (pictured) which will easily wash away the first time through. They are all otherwise perfect. I am unsure whether these were used or not. The ironing job is a bit sloppy but I can clearly see where a pin was affixed to the bottom of one towel (see last picture). As Marghab labels were always pinned, it leads me believe they are unused but I can’t swear to it. A great find for the Marghab collector but do display them for your friends on occasion so they can also appreciate the fine workmanship on these lovely towels.
