Antique Christening Gown with Fabulous Lace and Detailing

This little cutie is embellished with lots to pin-tucks and some of the most gorgeous eyelet I’ve ever seen.  The lace is a high quality German export and cleverly made to look like Ayershire Whitework.  Seriously – you’ll swear it’s hand embroidered!!  The skirt is fastened to yoke with tight little delectable gathers making it ever so frilly and cute.  Some repair work (done by me, tyvm) on the upper lace and a few stitches on the hem to replace some unraveling were all that was needed to bring this back to nearly perfect.  A few random pinholes and one small “almost hole” in the skirt are lost in the gathers and of no consequence whatsoever.  It closes with 3 small buttons in the back.  Both the length and the style tell us this is Edwardian but despite its age is entirely wearable.  Offered in pristine condition.  The measurements are as follows:

Length ~ 23”

Chest ~ 23”

Shoulder to shoulder ~ 8”

Sleeve length ~ 9”

Skirt Circumference ~ 75”!!!!

Hand laundered, air dried and pressed.  Excellent condition,  C. 1900’s-10
