This wonderful bath towel is made of a linen damask fabric and hand finished with a Nouveau padded whitework embroidery. It measures 36" x 19.5" and is as nice as the day it was made. This is what I refer to as "roll toweling". The customer simply told the merchantile clerk how much she wanted and they unrolled it off the bolt and cut it for her. The fabric and the finishwork are both very well done and the finished work is more than pleasing. This one has that "old world charm" which is getting harder and harder to find.
Hand washed, air dried and pressed. c. 1900-10
