This gorgeous piece is another lace I acquired from a dear lady named Marion (97 years young) who inherited it via a great aunt who owned a hat shop in Philadelphia during the early part of the century. Made in Italy, it is machine made with a very fine cotton thread. Although I've never seen this type of lace used on a hat (simply because there aren't many hats left from that time), I've seen it used on shirtwaists popular during that era. It measures approx 132" (that's 3 yards, 24") in length and is 2 1/8" wide. It is bright white, extremely strong and is as perfect now as it was when it was made. It has been cleaned and pressed and is ready for use. Use it however you wish to ducker up your next Victorian or Edwardian creation.
Hand laundered and pressed. Excellent, unused condition c. 1900 - 20
