Antique Princess line Christening gown - fabulous pin tucks and broiderie anglese

A most stunning Victorian "Princess style" christening gown made from and early cotton lawn fabric.  A decorative central panel which runs from neckline to hem has alternating French laces and English broiderie anglese.  Between the laces are row after row of pin tucks.  The same broiderie anglese frames the entire panel and finishes it beautifully.  It has linen ties at the neckline and waistband meant to be adjusted to suit baby's size.  This is in near mint condition with NO holes to the fabric and only one small hole in the lace at the neckline.  It has a faint pink mark on the back (very difficult to see - see pics) and rust on the underside of the hem in the back which will never show.  The tie at the waist is broken which I left for accuracy but I would be happy to replace both with a narrow satin ribbons if you so desire.  The chest measurement is 21" and from shoulder to shoulder measures 9".  It has a wonderful 39" drop from shoulder to hem and the skirt circumference is an ample 62".  Bright white, extremely sturdy and absolutely gorgeous.  An extremely rare find in this condition!!

Hand laundered, air dried and pressed  c. 1870 - 1900  excellent condition
