Made between 1880-1920, this gorgeous Swiss Shiffli lace collar was made to be seen from across the room or an Opera hall. The high relief of the flowers gives it dimesion and boldness but the and overall effect is graceful and feminine. Although I probably wouldn't classify it as rare, they don't show up very often. The intent was to be worn in front, but it is equally charming worn down the back with a pretty brooch pinned at the neck. It is made of light ecru cotton and measures a whopping 24" in length! The condition is perfect (not a stain or broken thread to be found anywhere!) and very wearable for that "Oh, so special" occasion.
Hand laundered, air dried c. 1880-1920 excellent condition as described
