These runners came from an estate where there were a whole host of runners and serving pieces, all done by the same woman all the same color (there are also a few done in green) and style and all similar in pattern. I am trying to sort them by pattern but ALL patterns work well together. Why so many??? I haven't a clue. It's obvious she loved the style and colors - and who wouldn't?? - but to make so many and never use them??? ... I'm thinking she was a little bit on the wonky side. However, that's our gain!
This pattern is a very old pattern which I recently learned is called the spider pattern - not surprising as the old timers considered it good luck to incorporate a spider in their pieces. There are 3 runners total - 2 large which measure 42" x 17.5" and a small one which measures 28.5" x 19". All sold seperately. Perfect for any room in the house!
Hand laundered, air dried and pressed c. 1910-20 excellent condition
