An antique carriage blanket, hand crocheted in a pattern of a rabbit tending some chicks. Carriage blankets were just that... it covered the baby in the carriage as the proud parents strolled about town showing off their little darling. Although I usually find these with the backing long gone, this one (thought quite tattered) was still attached. I carefully removed it and took it along to a quilter friend so she could use it as a pattern to restore this exactly as it was. She did a superb job, as I knew she would! The crocheted top is bright white and as strong as the day it was made and the rose pink satin is extremely soft and lovely. It measures 34" x 33" hails from the earlier part of the century.
Hand laundered, air dried and pressed c. 1910 - 1930 excellent condition
