I have a little patch of Jack in the Pulpits in my wild garden under the trees and they never fail to make me smile. Thus, you can imagine how tickled I was to run across this antique damask towel woven in a pattern of one of my favorite flowers. It is made from a medium weight linen and measures 36" x 20.25". It was used but certainly not abused. What a pleasure soaking this back to bright white and pressing it as the pattern come to life. A real gem!
Hand laundered, air dried c. 1900 - 20 excellent condition

Jack in the pulpit Preaches today, Under the green trees Just over the way. Squirrel and song-sparrow, High on their perch, Hear the sweet lily-bells Ringing to church. Come, hear what his reverence Rises to say,
in his low painted pulpit
this calm Sabbath-day.
