When you see lace in a spider pattern like in the center of the runner you know it's old. Incorporating a spider into their linens was thought to bring good luck into the home and was widely used throughout Victorian times. As old as this is, it is still as nice as the day it was made. The small thread is still firm and a good long soak brought it back to bright white again. Frothy, beautiful and a wonderful size, measuring in at 28" x 15". Pretty enough for company yet sturdy enough for everyday!
Freshly laundered and pressed. c. 1880 - 1910
