This gorgeous piece is perfectly hand embroidered with thistles and clusters of daisies in work so fine the previous owner believed it to be machine done! The centers of the daisies are finished with a fascinating and extremely rare technique which makes this a fine piece for the collector. The double scalloped edge is made in an eyelet pattern and finished with thousands upon thousands of perfect buttonhole stitches. Can you imagine?? I bought this with a ghastly repair which I removed and redid correctly and, since I had all the tools in front of me, I repaired 2 small holes near the edge which you’ll never even notice. Otherwise bright white and extremely strong. Even with the repairs I still have to give this a perfect 10! Measures 23” x 22”.
