I have to chuckle every time I look at this darling little Child’s sleeping cap. The hand crocheted X’s (even then an X meant a kiss) show the child was very much loved and the "puhdonger" coming out of the time just sends me over the top. The ribbons were long gone so I added pink satin ribbon around the brim with a triple bow. The bow would have been positioned in the front above the forehead. It was hand crocheted with a small cotton thread and measures 15” around the band. c. 1890 – 1910. Freshly laundered and in perfect condition.
