#TB111633B Unused Hand Embroidered Tablecloth with Matching Napkins - Still in package!

This pretty tablecloth and 6 napkins were hand embroidered on creme colored linen.  It is further adorned with swirls made in a technique most commonly called Mosaic lace.  Because there are so many people who collect these and you NEVER find them in their original packaging, I am selling it "as found".  There are no stains or weird smells whatsoever.  These were made in an area of China that was decimated by Japan during WWII.  The missionaries came in and found the people starving and no way of making a living so they got them started in a lucrative linen trade selling to American Women who still wanted pretty things but were no longer willing to take the time to make it.  In addition to the bonus of being in its original packaging, it is also one of the prettier patterns I've run across.  The tablecloth measures 68" x 51" and the napkins measure 10.5" square.

I found an interesting article about this fabulous embroideresses which is well worth reading.  Go to http://stanforddailyarchive.com/cgi-bin/stanford?a=d&d=stanford19491202-01.2.43#
