#LA031686 Very Old but Unused 1.5/8 Valenciennes Lace over 3.5 Yards!

Laces such as this one came from France and were used to make baby clothes, blouses and other delicate fineries.  This lace measures 1 5/8” wide and is 127” long (that’s over twice as tall as I am!).  It is woven in a spider web pattern which was considered by the Victorians to be a sign of Good Luck.  The lace is unused and came from a lady who inherited it from her aunt who was a dressmaker.  It cleaned up to a perfect white and is in “like new” condition.

Hand washed, air dried and pressed.  Excellent condition   c. 1900 – 40’s
