Unused Tea Cloth and 4 Matching Napkins from Spain Unused!

A darling hand embroidered tea cloth with 4 matching napkins which were still in their original box when I acquired them.  This kind of embroidery was popular in the 40’s.  My mother (born in 1942) was a “late comer” to the family and when she was little, her sisters were doing this kind of work to make pieces to add to their trousseau.  My mother begged to help them but they said she was too little.  Mom would wait until they were gone and then add a few stitches.  She claims she must have been pretty good at it because they never noticed.  But, I digress…  This set comes from Spain and is made from a light ecru linen fabric.  The tablecloth measures 34” square and each of the napkins measures 11.5” square.  You won’t get the original box it came in as it was really beat up and stunk but you will get the original tag.  Sold as a set.

Hand washed, air dried and pressed.  Excellent condition   c. 1940 – 60’s
