Antique linen pantaloons in perfect unused condition. These were made nice and wide for tennis or bicycling (gasp!) and are embellished with rows of nun’s pleats and some of the most beautiful broiderie anglese around the legs I’ve ever seen. The nun’s pleats date these anywhere from 1880-90. I don’t believe they were ever worn as there was no back button, nor any indication there ever was one.
They have a 31” waist and a nice 31” circumference around each leg. The inseam measures 18.5" inseam (that's longer than you think.. measure)! They have no yellowing, stains or damage. These were carefully cleaned and pressed by me – and what a joy it was! Every time I look at them I'm stunned at how "new" they look. Amazing.
My sister tells me our Grandma Jessie had a pair of these stored in an old trunk in her attic – in pink! Hmmmm… quite the little strumpet in her day, wasn’t she??? Lol.
