Fabulous Antique Embroidered Linen Glove Case Unused!

Heavenly embroidered glove case to store gloves, letters or mementos.  Made with one piece of linen fashioned like an envelope with a heavily hand embroidered flap.  Although these were (and still are) commonly called “glove cases” they were also sometimes used to hold hankies, letters and other treasured items.  This one came to me unused with the price marked in pencil which washed away when I cleaned it.  It’s original price?  12 cents!  Folded it measures 10.25” x 4.5”.  I run across these occasionally but never unused and rarely this nice.  Use it as a sachet, a treasure pouch or display it in a period room.  Then again, is the PC monogram hinting that it’s for storing your computer glasses?  Hmmm….

Hand cleaned, air dried and pressed.  Excellent condition   c. 1890’s - 1910
